These technicians typically work for companies that provide Invisible Fence brand or similar electronic pet fencing solutions. Their responsibilities include assessing customer properties, setting up the electronic fence, training pets to use the system, and troubleshooting any issues. Working per diem means they are scheduled as needed rather than as full-time staff, providing flexibility for both the technician and the employer.

To thrive as a Per Diem Invisible Fence Technician, you generally need experience in electrical systems, troubleshooting, and a valid driver’s license, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with specialized tools for installing and maintaining pet containment systems, as well as knowledge of manufacturer-specific training or certifications, is typical. Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills help build client trust and ensure smooth installations. These competencies ensure safe, effective installations and satisfied customers, which are critical for repeat business and safety compliance.
