Job description

Per Diem Interventional Radiology Rn

Saint Joseph's Medical Center is seeking a per diem interventional radiology RN to provide education to the patient and family members to ensure understanding of the procedure and plan of care before signing procedural consent and providing them with discharge planning/instructions.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Check and verify vital signs, meds, NPO status, lab results, and medical history.
  • Inserting and removing intravenous lines.
  • Administering medications including moderate sedation.
  • Monitoring patient patterns and vital signs during the procedure.
  • Overseeing the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Circulate/scrub procedures as needed.
  • Providing post-procedure monitoring: Includes observing for signs and symptoms of complications, such as bleeding from the puncture site, pain, and/or changes in mental status or vital signs.

Requirements:

New York state RN license

Minimum of 1.5 years of related clinical experience required

Radiology experience and IV skills highly preferred

BCLS required; ACLS preferred
