Job description

Per- Diem Clinical Liaison ( RN / RRT )

Select Specialty Hospital - Nashville

Critical Illness Recovery Hospital (LTACH)

Pay Rate: $40/hr.

Schedule: As needed. If chosen for this role, you will spend one full week training, then cover PTO and medical leave for full- time Clinical Liaisons.

A day in the life

You’ll advocate for referred patients in the pre-admission process by collaborating with clinical teams to assess patient needs. You will serve as a resource for healthcare professionals by fostering relationships within medical facilities. With clinical expertise and problem-solving skills, you’ll also coordinate care plans with physicians and families. Additionally, you will facilitate patient transfers and address barriers to accessing specialized post-ICU care.

Per-diem Clinical Liaisons cover full-time staff who go out on PTO, maternity leave, and other leaves of absence. It's an excellent opportunity for a clinician who has another Per-diem job with a flexible schedule.

You will gain first-hand experience in hospital account management, third-party reimbursement, and transitional care for critically ill patients.

What a Clinical Liaison Does

You’ll be a champion of The Select Medical Way, which includes: putting the patient first, helping to improve quality of life for the community in which you live and work, developing and exploring new ideas, providing high-quality care, and doing well by doing what is right.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will work with physicians, discharge planners, and patients' families to plan the best continuum of care after an ICU or post-surgical stay by utilizing your strong clinical background, payer knowledge, and problem-solving skills.
  • Perform clinical assessments of referred patients, then counsel with patients' families to assist them in making the best care decisions for their loved one.
  • Partner with hospital case managers and physicians to create a smooth pre-admission and transfer process through removing payer-related and operational barriers for patients getting into our highly effective level of care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist.

Preferred Experience

  • Two years of related experience working in a clinical healthcare setting or previous experience working in a clinical liaison role are preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency with the preadmission process, including assessments and relationship building in a rehabilitation setting or in another post-acute care setting, is preferred.
  • Proven track record in sales and marketing with a least one year of experience in a related position preferred.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
  • Must exercise sound judgment in handling the professional/confidential nature of health care sales.

Why Join Us:

  • Start Strong: Extensive orientation program to ensure a smooth transition into our setting.
  • Opportunity for Advancement: Demonstrate your skills and dedication, which could lead to potential full-time opportunities.
  • Part-time & Per Diem positions are eligible for 401 (k) based on reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or subsequent calendar year. We also offer our Employee Assistance Program to part-time employees.
