Job description

Advanced Practice Provider - CVH Primary Care @Virginia Ranch - Per Diem*

*IMPORTANT NOTE: In lieu of benefits due to "per diem" status, 15% will be added to the hourly rate. Per diem employees are offered work on an "as-needed" basis.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team and the scope of practice guidelines. Relies on protocols for authorization to perform medical functions of diagnosing, treating and performance of any other function that is considered within the scope of medical practice.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education:

  • American Nurses Association credentialing certification OR Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Licensure Required:

  • Advanced Practice Nurse licensure in the State of Nevada OR Physician Assistant licensure in the State of Nevada.
  • DEA and Board of Pharmacy Controlled Substance licensure (required only when medical staff controlled substance prescribing privilege is required).

Certification Required:

  • Current BLS OR ACLS certificate

Minimum Work Experience

  • Ability to communicate with employees, physicians, patients and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner.


POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

General Practices

  • Practices in accordance with acceptable medical standards, informs each patient that he or she is not a physician, and renders medical services only under the supervision of a full licensee.
  • Practices prerogatives, specific procedures, and privileges within his/her capabilities and authorization.
  • Completes medical records in a timely manner according to the medical staff by-laws and rules and regulations.

Communication/Protocols

  • Works in conjunction with the entire clinic staff to provide a patient centered care team with effective communication being the common denominator.
  • Communicates with employers, insurance company representatives, and other health care providers concerning patient care issues.
  • Participates in preceptor training for medical assistant.
  • Follows all HIPAA regulations at all times.
