SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the Program Director, per diem staff assist with case management directives, care, and/or instruction to residents. Helps complete forms, securely gather appropriate information required to document, and provide information about Open Door Mission services or provide referrals. Performs room or dorm inspections, supervises client tasks or chores, and ensures all house rules are followed. This position is not responsible for a case load and may require driving for evening and weekend recreational, sober living activities or family field trips. All overnight shifts are required to be awake.
All per diem employees are required to work 24 hours within a 30 day period and required to work the shift they elect.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Service Responsibilities
โขProvide day-to-day supervision and support to residents
โขObserve, monitor and document resident behaviors as well as progress in accordance with agency standards
โขAssist in the implementation and supervision of recreational activities, including Bible readings and/or life skill groups
โขComplete household chores assigned by supervisor to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
โขSupervise and document resident medications in accordance with agency policies
โขPerform any duties necessary for effective and efficient operation of community residence
Administrative Responsibilities
โขRegularly practices adherence to Facility/Program/Open Door Mission standards, and ensures documentation/policy requirements are followed
โขObserve all safety rules and regulations for self and others.
โขUtilize Mission Tracker and/or HMIS, and email to record, report, and communicate client information
โขMaintain appropriate and timely communication with staff and management, especially regarding critical incidents
โขMay perform prescreen responsibilities for intake
โขMay secure student resident medicine, and witness usage, and securely maintain documentation
โขMay provide transportation as necessary
โขMay administer random drug testing and maintain documentation
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
โขChristian with a commitment to and a passion for "Changing Lives. Restoring Hope" in the lives of the impoverished, addicted and mentally ill
โขExercise compassion, discernment, and models appropriate boundaries
โขAble and willing to honor the leadership, chain of command, standards and ministry objectives of ODM
โขProficient with data entry, and computer skills for generation of daily office communication
โขStrong team player, detailed and organized
โขAbility to work positively within a change environment
โขExposure to resource acquisition
โขMust maintain a high degree of trustworthiness and reliability
โขRequires NYS driver's license and have a driving record acceptable to ODM insurance carrier
โขFor those in recovery, a minimum of 1 year sobriety required
