Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the Program Director, per diem staff assist with case management directives, care, and/or instruction to residents. Helps complete forms, securely gather appropriate information required to document, and provide information about Open Door Mission services or provide referrals. Performs room or dorm inspections, supervises client tasks or chores, and ensures all house rules are followed. This position is not responsible for a case load and may require driving for evening and weekend recreational, sober living activities or family field trips. All overnight shifts are required to be awake.
All per diem employees are required to work 24 hours within a 30 day period and required to work the shift they elect.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Service Responsibilities
โ€ขProvide day-to-day supervision and support to residents
โ€ขObserve, monitor and document resident behaviors as well as progress in accordance with agency standards
โ€ขAssist in the implementation and supervision of recreational activities, including Bible readings and/or life skill groups
โ€ขComplete household chores assigned by supervisor to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
โ€ขSupervise and document resident medications in accordance with agency policies
โ€ขPerform any duties necessary for effective and efficient operation of community residence
Administrative Responsibilities
โ€ขRegularly practices adherence to Facility/Program/Open Door Mission standards, and ensures documentation/policy requirements are followed
โ€ขObserve all safety rules and regulations for self and others.
โ€ขUtilize Mission Tracker and/or HMIS, and email to record, report, and communicate client information
โ€ขMaintain appropriate and timely communication with staff and management, especially regarding critical incidents
โ€ขMay perform prescreen responsibilities for intake
โ€ขMay secure student resident medicine, and witness usage, and securely maintain documentation
โ€ขMay provide transportation as necessary
โ€ขMay administer random drug testing and maintain documentation

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ขChristian with a commitment to and a passion for "Changing Lives. Restoring Hope" in the lives of the impoverished, addicted and mentally ill
โ€ขExercise compassion, discernment, and models appropriate boundaries
โ€ขAble and willing to honor the leadership, chain of command, standards and ministry objectives of ODM
โ€ขProficient with data entry, and computer skills for generation of daily office communication
โ€ขStrong team player, detailed and organized
โ€ขAbility to work positively within a change environment
โ€ขExposure to resource acquisition
โ€ขMust maintain a high degree of trustworthiness and reliability
โ€ขRequires NYS driver's license and have a driving record acceptable to ODM insurance carrier
โ€ขFor those in recovery, a minimum of 1 year sobriety required
