Job description

About Nscale

Nscale is the GPU cloud engineered for AI. We provide cost-effective, high-performance infrastructure for AI start-ups and large enterprise customers. Nscale enables AI-focused companies to achieve superior results by reducing the complexity of AI development. Our GPU cloud bolsters technical capabilities and directly supports strategic business outcomes, including cost management, rapid innovation, and environmental responsibility.

We thrive on a culture of innovation, ownership, and accountability, where every team member takes pride in their work and drives it with excellence and focus. As an Nscaler, you'll build trust through openness and transparency that helps everyone do their best work. If you join our team, you'll contribute to building the technology that powers the future.

About the Role

You'll own the strategy, delivery, and day-to-day operation of the enterprise estate of software, systems, and agents for our People function - including core HCM (Workday), performance management, talent acquisition, learning management, and equity administration. You'll report to the Head of Corporate Engineering, with a dotted line into our People organization.

This is a player-coach role. You'll build and lead a team of People technology and AI talent, and part of the job is recruiting strong people who can design and ship automation, not just administer systems. You will lead design and idea generation, working through core HR processes one by one, spotting where automation or AI agents can take over manual effort, and shaping how we build those solutions. We want someone who moves fast and can deliver results in short cycles, and who's equally comfortable with systems deployment, operations work, and building with AI.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Build and lead a team of People technology and AI professionals, recruiting people who can design and ship automation and agentic solutions, as well as launch and maintain systems.
  • Own the core People platforms - Workday, performance management, and talent acquisition - end to end, from platform health and release management to integrations and vendor performance.
  • Go through core HR processes, find the manual and repetitive work, and design, and often build, the automation or AI agent that replaces it.
  • Push AI and automation across the portfolio, including copilots and custom agents, with a focus on practical delivery over long roadmaps.
  • Own People data flows and integrations across Workday, talent acquisition, learning, benefits, and other business systems.
  • Set the rules for People systems governance, including access controls, security, data quality, and change management.
  • Decide when to buy, configure, or build, weighing new AI-native tools against proven enterprise platforms.
  • Make the systems easier to use and adopt through documentation, training, and direct support.
About You
  • 15+ years in People/HR systems, HRIS, or business systems roles, including experience building and leading a team.
  • Deep, practical Workday experience across configuration, integrations, security, and reporting.
  • You've personally designed and built automations or AI agents/workflows, using scripting, low-code, or LLM tooling.
  • A track record of hiring and developing strong technical talent, ideally people who can build with AI, not just administer systems.
  • Track record designing and governing integrations across HCM, talent acquisition, learning, benefits, and adjacent systems.
  • You ship fast and deliver in short cycles.
  • Good judgment on when to buy, configure, or build AI-native solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder skills - you can work directly with People leadership and Engineering.
What we can offer you

At Nscale, you'll find a collaborative, supportive, and innovative environment where your contributions spark real impact. We're building something extraordinary, and we want you at the core.

  • Highly competitive compensation package, including base, bonus, and equity, with performance reviews every 12 months.
  • Join one of the fastest-growing AI infrastructure companies - your chance to directly shape how our People function uses technology and AI to scale globally.
  • Expect a dynamic progression plan tailored to your ambitions, with the opportunity to build and grow the function as the company scales, always with our full support.
  • Human-First Flexibility: We treat you as humans first. Our flexible workplace trusts Nscalers to deliver, giving you the autonomy to shape your day around life's moments.
Equal Opportunities Statement

We strongly encourage applications from people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

If there's anything we can do to accommodate your specific situation, please let us know.

This job description outlines the core responsibilities of the role and provides you with a general overview of the position, but it is not exhaustive. Management may ask you to perform additional duties, tasks, and responsibilities consistent with the skills and qualifications required for the role.

The range below reflects the base salary we expect to pay for this role. Your actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as skill set, experience, education, and location. In addition to base salary, you may be eligible to participate in bonus, and equity programs. We offer a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and retirement plan participation.
