People Operations Generalist

About the People Operations Generalist Position:

The People Operations Generalist is the local on-the-ground point of contact for all HR responsibilities at their assigned local fulfillment center. The Generalist creates a positive, engaging employee experience by serving as a people advocate on the ground for the People team. The Generalist works closely with the 1P People Team to ensure each facility is promoting the same Stord culture and employee experience and adjusting to the challenges and opportunities of a startup environment. The Generalist handles day-to-day HR functions for the warehouse and also proactively works to continuously improve the people experience, in partnership with the BPPE team, to meet the fluid needs of the business.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as a the main HR contact and employee advocate for their assigned FC location, offering assistance on a daily basis on-site with all HR questions, issues, concerns (including background checks, new hire orientation, overseeing training, servicing requests, people advocate, morale boosting activities and programs)
  • Working with the 1P People Team, locally organize ideas on issues, develop thorough execution plans, and drive the process to successful implementation in a manner consistent with other locations
  • Partnering with the 1P People Team to drive best-in-class programs for warehouse employee experience, setting Stord apart from others
  • Gauge employee engagement and facilitate discussions around opportunities for improvement, working with warehouse managers and with Employee Experience team for ongoing changes to existing programs and new implementations as often as necessary
  • Champion, execute, and monitor contributions that develop and sustain a workplace that mirrors our values and culture
  • Collaborate with the 1P People Team to develop plans to promote an inclusive environment that is engaging, enabling and energizing, and one where our associates can thrive
  • Continuously analyze people data and understand trends to provide proactive engagement opportunities and solutions that support our business objectives, adherence to policy and cultural values
  • Develop strong working relationship with key leaders at warehouses to facilitate a positive work environment and drive continuous improvement
  • Coach and advise managers on sensitive work-related issues in the areas of conflict resolution, interpretation of company policy, culture and values, leave accommodations, and other employment-related topics
  • Advise managers on best practices and recommended approaches for leveraging our tools and people processes to maximize employee performance, achieve organizational effectiveness, improve employee engagement and ensure legal compliance

What You'll Need:

  • 3+ years human resource experience or blend of operations and HR
  • Experience supporting hourly employee client groups
  • Experience in retail, call center, distribution center, or manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency with HRIS Systems

Bonus Points:

  • A completed Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
  • Understanding of daily HR tasks associated with warehouse associates (including but not limited to background checks, onsite training, HR questions, performance/attendance issues, and general wellbeing of associates on a daily basis)
