Department Summary:
The Operations Manager oversees daily production processes associated operations. This position requires strong people management skills and ability to communicate across multiple organizational boundaries and disciplines. Management of up to 100 personnel on multiple shifts is required. They will serve as a back up to the Operations Director and/or Vice President. Operations Managers will assist in training for new cell managers and/or opening new direct labor positions as needed. This position requires previous experience as a Cell Manager at Janicki.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Directly responsible for the daily function and execution of production cells
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow for optimal use of resources
  • Backfills for Operations Director and Cell Managers during vacation or sick time
  • Monitors and maintains operations key process indicators (production LPI's, direct labor billable, workorder accuracy tracking, etc.)
  • Works towards continuous Improvement goals within various work centers
  • Assist in training and development of new cell managers/leads and provides cross-training for those moving to new cells
  • Documents lessons learned from complex or long duration projects
  • Authorizes and coordinates cross-cell movement of shared resources such as metrology technicians
  • Coordinates O.J.T. for new hire production or operations personnel
  • Hires and trains next tier of technicians and leads to complete assigned work
  • Identifies areas for improvement among cell members and implements cross training accordingly to create a more capable and homogenous team
  • Owns the 5S Standards for the manufacturing organization and assists with providing site direction and coaching on best practices
  • Provides support during audits
  • Assists cell managers with planning and scheduling
  • Assist with plant-to-plant project coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire others; show a strong work ethic; set a positive example by providing assistance, recognition and encouragement; to identify and articulate clear, meaningful goals; to focus the efforts of others, and to quickly adapt well to changing conditions
  • Evidence of a management style which successfully builds alliances within the corporation
  • Demonstrates an emphasis on high morale, effective teamwork, high performance and delivery of commitments
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. Shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree, technical engineering degree, or business degree is preferred. Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a cell manager within Janicki Industries preferred.
  • General understanding of AS9100 and NADCAP compliance requirements.
  • Must be familiar with a variety of the composite field's concepts, practices, and procedures; must be able to rely on extensive experience, problem-solving skills, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

Detailed Wage Information
Wage range for this role is between $90,000 - $160,000 a year plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
