Pension Coordinator information

What are some common challenges pension coordinators face when managing multiple retirement plans simultaneously?

Pension Coordinators often juggle several retirement plans, each with its own regulations, compliance deadlines, and reporting requirements. Keeping track of varying plan details and ensuring accurate data entry can be challenging, especially during peak periods such as annual reporting or audits. Effective organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication with both internal teams and external vendors are essential to manage these challenges and maintain compliance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a pension coordinator?

To thrive as a Pension Coordinator, you need a solid understanding of pension plans, benefits administration, and relevant regulations, often supported by a degree in business, finance, or human resources. Familiarity with pension management software, HRIS systems, and proficiency in spreadsheets is typically required, along with certifications such as CEBS or ASPPA being advantageous. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for managing sensitive data and liaising with employees and providers. These skills and qualifications ensure accurate pension administration, regulatory compliance, and responsive service to plan participants.

Dental Provider (DDS or DMD)

Compensation & Pension Exams for Veterans 1099 Independent Contractor | One Day per Week | Flexible Scheduling

$~1000-1620/day

We are seeking a licensed DDS or DMD to perform Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams for Veterans. This is a meaningful opportunity to support those who have served by conducting structured, evaluation-based exams that directly impact disability benefit determinations.

This is not a traditional clinical role. There is no treatment planning, no ongoing patient care, and no production pressure. The role is focused entirely on objective examinations and documentation.

Position Details

1099 Independent Contractor

One day per week required

No minimum patient volume

Flexible scheduling with coordination through scheduling team

Malpractice and general liability insurance covered under company policy

Compensation

Each DBQ averages approximately 30 minutes.

Approximate Earnings Example

Because compensation is per DBQ, daily income depends on exam volume. For example:

8 DBQs in one day Approximately $1,080

10 DBQs in one day Approximately $1,350

12 DBQs in one day Approximately $1,620

These figures are approximate and reflect potential earnings for the scheduled one day per week. Volume is not guaranteed.

Clinical Responsibilities

Conduct 20-minute face-to-face dental evaluations

Perform Oral and Dental Conditions examinations

Perform Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) evaluations

Complete documentation using an electronic DBQ platform

Provide Medical Opinions when required (additional compensation provided)

Exams are focused and forensic in nature. The electronic system dynamically adjusts to ensure only required sections are completed.

Office and Equipment Requirements

Must maintain a dedicated office location

Office must be ADA and OSHA compliant, including wheelchair accessibility

Panoramic X-ray machine required for occasional exams

Training and Credentialing

Completion of VBA TRAIN (VA standardized online training) required prior to seeing Veterans

Self-paced online training, approximately 10โ€“15 hours

CME/CEU credits provided

If previously completed through VA or another vendor, account can be linked

Education verification

Authorization to credential

A Provider Liaison will be assigned after onboarding to assist with scheduling, availability, and portal support.

Qualifications
