REQUISITION SUMMARY

The Senior General Accountant is a key member of the Corporate Division General Accounting team responsible for the accounting for equity, stock compensation plans, pensions, significant reserves, forecast and monthly executive reporting as well as general month-end close activities. The position interacts frequently with cross functional teams such as consolidation, external reporting, compensation, legal and treasury as well as internal and external auditors. This position reports to the General Accounting Manager.

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform financial analysis and prepare timely, accurate and meaningful financial reports for internal management. Reporting covers key areas of the business, including inputs into the monthly forecast, annual budget and monthly management reporting

• Responsible for monthly analysis of various key reserves including workers' compensation, deferred compensation, annual bonus and long-term incentive bonus

• Responsible for pension accounting, including monthly journal entries, interacting with actuaries, quarterly reports for external reporting and preparing schedules for financial statements for Employee Benefit Plans.

• Support Corporate's month-end reporting processes such as journal entries, financial statement reviews/comparisons and uploading financial data into the global consolidation application

• Responsible for timely preparation of monthly account reconciliations or analysis as applicable

• Support PACCAR Inc's quarterly external 10Q, annual 10K and employee benefit processes including preparing schedules related to stock compensation or others

• Actively participate in special projects utilizing technical accounting and analytical skills to make recommendations

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Strong analytical and computer skills in Excel (i.e. pivot tables, macros, charts and graphs) and data analytic tools (i.e. tableau, etc.).

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; including effective written and verbal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

• Self-motivated problem solver with ability to work independently and under pressure with deadlines, handling multiple tasks and/or projects and shifting priorities.

• Positive attitude and "can-do" approach to issue resolution.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a track record of increasing responsibility and scope.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

• CPA / MBA

• Big 4 public accounting experience highly preferred

• SAP experience desired
