This position is available to Virginia residents as Richmond or Lynchburg, VA hybrid in-office applicants or remote applicants residing in states/locations under Eastern or Central Standard Time: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas,  Vermont, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia or Wisconsin.

*Hybrid in-office would be required if you reside within 50 miles of our Richmond or Lynchburg, VA office. Required in-office days are Tuesdays & Wednesdays.

YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Pega Developer, you will take ownership of the development, maintenance, and optimization of mobile and desktop Pega-based solutions. This role is ideal for a developer with deep Pega expertise and experience supporting intuitive, scalable mobile and web applications.

You will contribute to Genworth’s top strategic priorities by supporting critical systems that enable world‑class service to policyholders when they need us most. You will work closely with business partners and IT teams to support and enhance Long-Term Care (LTC) Claims Administration applications and services, delivering high‑quality solutions that meet complex operational needs.

What you will be doing

  • Provide support for Pega applications.
  • Serve as a Senior Application Developer for the LTC Claims Operations technology team by designing, developing, and supporting scalable workflow applications.
  • Develop software using PEGA Rules Process Commander (PRPC) for Business Process Management and Business Process Rules initiatives.
  • Create innovative solutions to address design, architectural, and technical challenges.
  • Partner with the Lead System Architect to determine solution design and produce required technical documentation.
  • Perform ongoing refactoring, apply visualization techniques, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong peer relationships across cross‑functional technology teams and application users.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Testers, and business users to prioritize development within resource constraints.
  • Evaluate and adapt emerging technologies and toolsets as appropriate.
  • Perform peer code reviews and ensure strong adherence to Pega guardrails.

What you bring

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA).
  • 5 - 7+ years of Pega application development experience.
  • 4+ years developing BPM applications using Pega PRPC Platform 8 & 24/25.
  • Strong enforcement of Pega best practices for design and architecture.
  • Experience with Agile (Scrum).
  • Experience with SQL Server or Oracle.
  • Experience with .NET or Java preferred.
  • Experience in large‑scale enterprise environments.
  • Experience with Pega Constellation.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience leading development teams.

The base salary pay range for this role starts at a minimum rate of $91,800 up to the maximum of $166,000. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible to participate in an incentive plan. The incentive plan is based on performance and the target earning opportunity is 10% of your base compensation.  The final determination on base pay for this position will be based on multiple factors at the time of this job posting including but not limited to geographic location, experience, and qualifications to ensure pay equity within the organization.
