Position Overview
The Plumbing Home Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and improving residential plumbing systems while delivering an excellent customer experience.
Successful technicians at Villara are skilled tradespeople who take ownership of the entire service call-from diagnosis through completion. They communicate clearly, provide customers with appropriate solutions, perform quality work, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to the overall performance of the Home Services team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair residential plumbing systems accurately and thoroughly.
  • Perform plumbing service, repair, maintenance, and replacement work within the technician's training and qualifications.
  • Identify the root cause of customer concerns and inspect for additional relevant safety, reliability, or performance issues.
  • Clearly explain findings and provide customers with appropriate repair, replacement, and improvement options.
  • Complete approved work safely, professionally, and correctly the first time.
  • Educate customers on applicable Villara services, membership options, financing, and other solutions that may benefit them.
  • Maintain complete and accurate job notes, invoices, estimates, photos, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area, vehicle, tools, and inventory.
  • Communicate and work effectively with customers, dispatch, customer service, management, and other field employees.
  • Follow Villara policies, procedures, safety requirements, plumbing codes, and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in required training and continuously develop technical, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Performance Expectations
Villara technicians are expected to:
  • Provide a professional and positive customer experience.
  • Complete thorough diagnoses and quality repairs with minimal callbacks or rework.
  • Present appropriate solutions and give customers the opportunity to make informed decisions.
  • Meet established department performance goals, including productivity, sales/close performance, membership opportunities, customer satisfaction, and quality standards.
  • Complete documentation accurately and on time.
  • Be dependable, prepared, and ready to work as scheduled.
  • Take ownership of results and follow through on commitments.
  • Work professionally and respectfully with customers and fellow employees.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of residential plumbing service experience preferred.
  • Strong plumbing diagnostic, repair, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with residential plumbing systems, including water heaters, fixtures, drains, water and sewer lines, pressure regulation, and related equipment.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing codes and safe work practices.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to use required hand and power tools and perform the physical functions of residential plumbing service work.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Availability for overtime or schedule adjustments as business needs require.
