Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of pediatric critical care experience and prior travel experience.

Details
  • Hospital-based Respiratory Therapy department serving pediatric patients
  • Covers PICU, NICU, CCU, and acute care floors
  • Staffing ratios based on a points system
  • EMR system used is Epic
  • 12-hour night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • No floating required
Requirements
  • Illinois RRT license required if applicable
  • BLS and PALS certifications required
  • NRP certification required for NICU assignments
  • Minimum 2 years of RRT experience in Pediatric Critical Care (PICU/NICU/CCU)
  • Recent acute care Pediatric RRT experience within the current year required
  • CRTs will not be accepted, RRT certification only
  • Prior travel assignment experience required
  • Must be able to work in both NICU and PICU, as well as CCU and/or acute care floors
  • Flu and COVID-19 vaccination documentation with dates and lot numbers required for consideration
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from within the last year
Additional Information
  • Scrubs of any color permitted, kid-friendly designs welcome
  • Orientation sessions held every Monday
  • Maximum RTO of 10 days for general staff, 6 days for RRTs, with any time off made up by extending the contract end date
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate as travelers for most units
  • NICU and PICU units enforce a 50-mile radius rule and do not accept local candidates
  • Returning employees must have been separated from the facility for at least one year
  • Returning travelers must have been off assignment for at least 45 days
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
