The Peace Center is a major, nonprofit performing arts center serving a growing and sophisticated audience in Greenville, South Carolina. It is the dominant performing arts center in the State and region. Built on a six-acre campus with an aesthetic mix of new architecture and historic buildings, the campus is at the hub of Greenville's nationally recognized downtown.The Peace Center venues include the 2,115-seat Peace Concert Hall, the 400-seat Gunter Theatre, the 1,400-capacity outdoor Peace Pavilion, Genevieve's Lounge, and the Huguenot Mill which includes two event spaces: the Ramsaur Studio and the Huguenot Loft

Opening in 2025 will be two additional music venues: the 250-seat Mockingbird (a listening room), and the 1,150 capacity Coach Factory (a flat floor club). POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a part-time server. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences by promptly greeting guests, taking accurate food and beverage orders, and delivering meals with efficiency and a smile.

You'll ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining a clean and welcoming environment and responding to any questions or concerns with professionalism and care. ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Include, but are not limited to) Welcome and greet patrons, introduce yourself as their server and ensure their needs are met Inform guests of specials and menu changes Be knowledgeable of applicable performances, details, and venues Make recommendations based on your knowledge and what you feel certain patrons will enjoy Up-sell food & beverage items using suggestive selling techniques Answer questions regarding sourcing and preparation for food and beverages Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner Perform other duties at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment Maintain the cleanliness of all service areas Monitor & observe guests to ensure their dining experience is satisfactory Respond promptly and courteously to any requests Prepare the final bill and present it to guests, accept and process payments by credit card Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise Clear and reset tables Ability to be flexible to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant Follow all safety guidelines and processes and report any unsafe working conditions immediately to a member of management Ability to work with Square POS and enter orders correctly with any modifications or allergy warnings for the kitchen to be able to prepare food properly Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Must be 18 years of age or older Ability to operate a point-of-sale system Be able to communicate clearly and understand the needs of Genevieve's operation as well as Peace Center patrons Basic knowledge of food and beverage presentation, preparation and handling Positive attitude and sense of pride in quality of work Job Requirements Ability to multi-task working in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of orders Constant standing and walking for up to 6 hours Lifting and maneuvering items up to 25 lbs.
