Job Overview

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) on the Cardiac Renal Unit (CRU), you'll support nurses in providing hands-on care for patients with complex cardiac and renal conditions. Your day will include assisting with hygiene, mobility, vital signs, documentation, and compassionate bedside care — including support for patients nearing end of life. Your focus, observation skills, and steady presence help ensure safe, high-quality care for patients who require close monitoring.

What You'll Gain

On the Cardiac Renal Unit, you'll gain specialized experience caring for patients with heart failure, dysrhythmias, renal insufficiency/failure, unstable angina, myocardial infarction (MI), and pre–open heart surgery needs. You'll learn how to support telemetry patients and work alongside nurses trained in dysrhythmia and EKG interpretation. CRU is known for strong collaboration, steady leadership, and a culture that supports learning & growth.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with bathing, oral care, toileting, and linens
  • Support safe mobility, repositioning, and transfers
  • Monitor and record vital signs

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within six months of hire
