Number of Beds: 29

Number of Staff: 61

Type of staff: Day Shift 1 charge, 1 Desk PCT, RNs based on census Night Shift 1 charge, 1 desk PCT, RNs based on census

Patient Ratios: 3-4 couplets per RN

Type of equipment: Welch Allen vitals machines, CPN monitors, POC Glucose monitoring

EMR: Meditech / CPN

Typical procedures performed on unit(s): POC Glucose monitoring Breastfeeding support Post-partum hemorrhage management Assist with circumcision Hypertension assessment/management

Any additional information that would entice a worker to select your unit for their assignment: This post-partum unit is a close-knit family of nurses and PCTs who work very well together as a team on a very busy post-partum unit. The patients are high risk, with the low-risk patients separated out on a free-standing LDRP that is across the street. Scheduling is flexible, and we are willing to work with the traveler. The Hospital delivers between 400-500 babies per month.
