Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and compassionate Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team. As an Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive musculoskeletal and orthopedic care to residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. You will evaluate, diagnose, and manage orthopedic conditions including joint pain, arthritis, fractures, mobility limitations, and other musculoskeletal disorders. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while collaborating with a dedicated interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive orthopedic and musculoskeletal assessments for patients in long-term care and skilled nursing facilities
  • Diagnose and treat orthopedic conditions including joint pain, osteoarthritis, fractures, sprains, mobility impairments, and chronic musculoskeletal disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, therapeutic interventions, and rehabilitative recommendations
  • Conduct routine follow-up visits to monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Provide patient and family education regarding orthopedic conditions, treatment plans, fall prevention, and mobility support
  • Perform joint injections and other in-office orthopedic procedures as appropriate and within scope of practice
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR system
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and care delivery
Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility
  • Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician license
  • DEA License
  • CPR BCLS/BLS certified
  • Must hold a Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Completed a degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • A year of experience in Orthopedics or musculoskeletal care
  • Preferred experience in Documenting EMR (Sigma, Visual, PCC, etc.): training provided
  • Must have great organizational and time management skills.
