OPERATIVE JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Materials Handler
DEPARTMENT: Materials
PAY LEVEL: H03
JOB FUNCTION:
The Materials Handler is responsible for assisting in the Materials department of all raw materials and finished product for the plant.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Capable of reading and interpreting shipping and receiving operating instructions.
  • Unload trucks and check invoices for received parts and products.
  • Load outbound trucks making sure all shipping documentation is correct and in place.
  • Respond to manufacturing requirements.
  • Identify parts and product for accurate sorting.
  • Must have valid drivers license.
  • Meet 6S requirements.
  • Will be required to receive and identify parts and product per O.I.
  • Electronically enter data and generate barcode labels to identify materials accurately
  • Able to use AQCS system and other computer programs, up to and including Microsoft Office.
  • Be able to communicate professionally with customers and vendors.

EDUCATION:
High school education, Associates Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Three months OJT training.
INITIATIVE AND INGENUITY:
Normal initiative and ingenuity.
EFFORT:
Normal effort required. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds consistently; higher weights with appropriate lifting devises.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for self. Make sure shipments meet quality standards. Must be willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.
JOB CONDITIONS:
Exposed to elements when transferring parts or product to/from plant.
