Job description

This position will manage multi-state payroll functions for the Airfoils Division. Audit and review complete payroll application, 401K administration, and benefit audits.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Audit process of new hires, transfers, promotions and terminations are accurate and timely.
  • Indirect supervisor for the payroll staff at our manufacturing sites.
  • Critically review and analyze payroll benefit tax procedures to recommend and/or implement changes leading to best practices.
  • Supervise and coordinate fiscal and calendar year-end processing of payroll, W-2 and other tax forms, and other government required documentation.
  • Audit payroll year to date, fringe, etc. on all company codes for the Division.
  • Complete month-end reconciliations for payroll liability accounts.
  • Communicate actively with locations regarding deadlines, changes, etc. on payroll applications.
  • Train team members and create training documentation on systems, procedures, and policies as necessary.
  • Perform Sarbanes Oxley audits as required for the payroll department.
  • Work with internal and external auditors.
  • Control the ADP master file and any changes to custom calculations, feeds, etc. with all company codes.
  • Prepare management reports as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or finance and/or equivalent experience and training.
  • 7 to 10 years of payroll processing experience in a high-volume environment with a minimum of 2,000 employees on payroll
  • Experience with ADP automated payroll systems is required.
  • Ability to interpret time policies and apply to the payroll system is critical.
  • Experience in applying state and federal wage and hour laws to the payroll system is required.
  • Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to effectively supervisor team members and work as a member of that team and organize work activities for other members of that team.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and implement process improvements.
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail and follow-through to resolve any outstanding issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance is a plus.
Working Conditions:
  • Travel required, mostly local to the greater Cleveland area.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit and work in an office environment for extended periods of time.
