Job Title
Systems Technician
Position Overview
Shaw is hiring a Systems Technician to provide technical hardware/software support for Plant 65 in Andalusia, AL. The Systems Technician will train users on supported hardware/software, provide LAN and WAN Administration as required. This role will also provide remote help to IT Services and IS Services in Dalton and Cartersville as well as replace and maintain PC's and servers as needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides support for Shaw Fiber System and Corporate supported hardware/software.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems with hardware/software systems.
  • Assists users with issues they encounter with IS/IT systems.
  • Trains users on Yarn Shop Floor and all other supported systems.
  • Provides recommended specifications for new hardware/software applications.
  • Maintains local hardware/software and ensures security of equipment.
  • Installs software on stand-alone PC's.
  • Accepts and route Request for Mfg IS Services to the appropriate routings.
  • Assists corporate IT with LAN and WAN administration.
  • Assists and work with corporate IS Department personnel with the development of new plant systems, maintenance, and upgrading of hardware/software currently in use.
  • Manages Capital/Expense projects for plant level IS/IT system equipment
