Job description

PC System Specialist

is seeking a PC Systems Specialist who will perform analytical, technical, and administrative work related to the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of personal computer systems. The Specialist will support moderately complex applications, engage with end users to identify requirements, and deliver solutions through custom programming, off-the-shelf software adaptation, or hardware optimization.

Locations: Fort Knox, KY (On-Site)

Security Clearance: Verifiable DoD Secret (or higher) is Required

Certifications: Must have verifiable CompTIA Security+ Certification

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform planning, design, and installation of new and existing personal computer systems.
  • Consult with end users to determine hardware and software needs based on operational requirements.
  • Develop programs or select and customize commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software to meet identified needs.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, peripheral devices, and associated system software.
  • Administer and maintain telecommunications protocols as required.
  • Provide troubleshooting, diagnostic support, and resolution for hardware and software issues.
  • Train and support end users in the use of computer systems, software, and hardware tools.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and user instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies regarding IT security and system access.

Basic Qualifications Required Education, Certifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; OR Associate Degree (AA) and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting PC hardware, software, and peripherals in a mid-to-large scale environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum Citizenship Status Requirements: or Lawful Permanent Resident
