Positional Role

This role is primarily responsible for performing the document preparation and scanning tasks. This role is vital in initiating the imaging process and obtaining our conversion objectives. Our Scan Technicians are experts of documentation management & digital archiving. Our Scanning Techs. work as part of a team tasked to achieve the goals of our clients. Their roles include but are not limited to data entry, document prep, documentation archiving, indexing data, organizing data sets, providing administrative assistance, ordering supplies, answering phones, conducting research, document editing, data analysis and comprehension, etc. The Scanning Tech. is also an expert in copying and printing techniques for all formats of data. From restoring and recovering sensitive documents to extracting copies from old negatives and delicate originals. The jobs duties vary dependent on client's requirements or projects deliverables. Our Scanning Technicians are an integral position required for all large digitization task forces.


Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Sorting and/or preparing hard copy records for scanning - document preparation
  • Scan hard-copy files to electronic images. Assuring a quality image and QC
  • Follow production procedures and completing internal documentation & tracking
  • Adhere to JSR Business Services LLC guidelines of maintaining clean work environment
  • Other duties, as specified by Supervisor/Manager
  • Advanced skills & experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Advanced telecommunication software skills including Microsoft Skype for business
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills
  • Knowledge of file naming convention theory
  • Recognize & correct inconsistencies within documentation organization and indexing
  • Orient all page's same direction prior to imaging
  • Remove all staples, paperclips, binder clips prior in prep for imaging
  • Ability to communicate effectively through instant message and e-mail
  • Ability to communicate possible setting changes of imaging devices to operator
  • Remove all bindings and trim edges for ease of document feeding
  • Knowledge & experience of document recovery & restoration
  • Administrative duties as requested
  • Proficient in various printers, copiers, scanners and shredding equipment
  • Ability to concatenate documents appropriately
  • Attention to detail
  • Work well in small teams
  • Ability to lift banker boxes up to 25 lbs. as needed
  • Efficiently organize documents and data
  • Advanced filing, & archival knowledge
  • Ability to perform methodical tasks for extended periods of time

Minimum Qualifications

  • Familiarity with PC and other computer related products.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing & communicating in English.

  • Must be able to understand the importance of detail and accuracy.

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum business expertise required.
  • This role is responsible specifically for their job assignments and the success of those assignments.
  • This role requires very minimum external contact and will communicate predominantly with Imaging personnel. This communication will consist of providing personal production updates and job specific questions/clarification.
