Job Title: Neurosonology & Cerebrovascular Ultrasound Technologist (South Florida)
Location: Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach Counties Employment 
Type: Full-Time / Part-Time 
Reports To: Vice President, Onsite Imaging Services Administrator
About Onsite Imaging Services

Onsite Imaging Services is a Joint Commission–accredited Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility (IDTF) specializing in portable, clinic-based, and concierge diagnostic ultrasound. We support neurology groups, managed care organizations, and multi-specialty practices across Florida with high-quality neurosonology and cerebrovascular imaging. Our rapid growth in South Florida requires a dedicated technologist with neurology-specific ultrasound expertise.
Position Summary

The Neurosonology & Cerebrovascular Ultrasound Technologist performs specialized diagnostic studies that support neurologists in evaluating stroke risk, intracranial circulation, peripheral neuropathies, neuromuscular disorders, and cerebrovascular disease. This role requires a technologist who is clinically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently across multiple environments including neurology clinics, managed care offices, and home-bound patient visits.
Key Responsibilities

Neurology-Specific Clinical Duties. The technologist will perform the following neurology-focused ultrasound studies:
Cerebrovascular Ultrasound
  • Transcranial Doppler (TCD) – complete, limited
  • Intracranial flow studies
  • Vasoreactivity testing (breath-hold / CO₂ challenge)
  • Emboli detection (PFO evaluation)
  • Transcranial color-coded duplex (TCCD) (if credentialed)

Extracranial Vascular Ultrasound
  • Carotid duplex
  • Vertebral artery duplex
  • IMT measurement (if required by provider)
Peripheral Nerve & Neuromuscular Ultrasound
  • Median nerve (carpal tunnel)
  • Ulnar nerve entrapment
  • Radial nerve evaluation
  • Sciatic nerve evaluation
  • Muscle ultrasound for neuromuscular disorders
  • Brachial plexus (preferred but not required)
General Support Studies (as needed)
  • Small parts
  • Abdominal
  • MSK
  • Limited OB/GYN (if credentialed)
Operational Duties
  • Travel to neurology clinics, managed care offices, and home-bound patients.
  • Maintain daily QC logs and Joint Commission compliance.
  • Upload studies to our HIPAA-compliant cloud-based PACS.
  • Ensure exams meet Florida LCD medical-necessity guidelines.
  • Communicate professionally with neurologists, office staff, and care teams.
  • Support overflow, PTO coverage, and high-volume neurology days.

Qualifications Required

  • ARDMS or CCI certification (RVT strongly preferred).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of vascular ultrasound experience.
  • Experience performing carotid duplex and TCD (or willingness to train).
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong patient-care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in mobile and clinic settings.
Preferred
  • Prior experience performing TCD, vasoreactivity, or emboli detection.
  • Experience with neurology groups or stroke programs.
  • Familiarity with managed care populations (Simply, CarePlus, Humana).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole).
  • Prior IDTF or mobile ultrasound experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and transport portable ultrasound equipment (30–40 lbs).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel throughout South Florida.
