Position Overview: The HR Coordinator / Payroll Administrator supports daily HR operations and manages accurate, timely payroll processing. This role serves as a primary resource for employees regarding payroll, benefits, onboarding, HR policies, and personnel records while ensuring compliance with employment and payroll regulations.

Responsibilities:

Payroll Administration

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Audit timekeeping records and maintain payroll data, including deductions, taxes, garnishments, and direct deposits.
  • Administer payroll changes for hires, terminations, promotions, and benefit elections.
  • Reconcile payroll data, prepare reports, and resolve employee payroll inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws and assist with year-end processing, W-2s, audits, and reporting.

Human Resources Administration

  • Coordinate recruiting, onboarding, and new hire orientation.
  • Maintain personnel files, HRIS records, and employee documentation.
  • Support benefits administration, employee communications, training, and compliance tracking.
  • Process employee status changes and assist with performance management and engagement initiatives.
  • Communicate HR policies and maintain confidentiality of employee information.

Compliance & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain accurate HR and payroll records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Support audits, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and leave administration.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and employment laws.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources , Business, Accounting, or related field preferred; bachelor's degree desirable.
  • 2-5 years of payroll and HR administration experience.
  • Experience with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and timekeeping software.
  • Working knowledge of payroll regulations and employment laws.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong payroll, HR, and employee relations knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.

Preferred Certifications

  • PHR, SHRM-CP, FPC, or CPP preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged sitting and computer work.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Professional, well-groomed personal appearance
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
  • Willing to submit and pass a pre-employment drug screen
