Job summary: Under the direction of the Director of QA, coordinate and participate in technical payroll accounting activities; participate in the preparation, maintenance, processing, analysis, and auditing of manual and automated payroll data, information, records, and reports; ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll transactions; lead, train and provide work direction and guidance to staff; serve as project lead to represent Payroll Department on various initiatives across the organization.Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Building out and maintaining Internal Payroll Metric Reporting (Error Rate, No Pays, Total Wages, Fedex, etc.)
  • Partner with Payroll Management on New Client Data uploads (Successor Wages, Client SUTA, etc.)
  • Payroll Audit Reporting - Internal/Client
  • Project Managing Departmental Initiatives/Priorities
  • Payroll Compliance Analysis and Updates (Minimum Wage, No Pays, Pay Codes, etc.)
  • Employee Tax Audits (Tax Adjustment Preparation)
  • Review and Preparation of Year End Reporting, SOLV account (W-2 Processing)
  • Oversee, Review, and Train Department Staff on System Related Updates (PrismHR; Salesforce)
  • Troubleshoot GL Errors, Hard Stops, assist with new client configurations
  • Develop and/or recommend new or revised Department Processes/Workflows
  • Identify and Resolve Payroll discrepancies in Prism
  • Work Across the Organization to Research and Resolve a Variety of Payroll Inquiries
  • Identify and Deliver relevant Payroll related topics for Internal/Client Communications (Internal Newsletter, Insights Newsletter, Webinars, PrestigePEO.com, etc.)
  • Assist as backup with W2C's, managing, creating, and reporting to SSA
  • Assist with New Employee training (Internal)
  • Manage Pay Card Vendor relationship
  • Custom Client Reporting, case management
  • Assist with New Client Payroll Training and process their first few payrolls as needed
  • Audit New Client Worksite Locations, and ensure pay frequency is state-compliant
  • Retrieve plan-specific benefits reports and formatting for mass import to the system (Prism)
  • Build client allocation reports based on client’s needs

Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Years of work experience: 3 years in PEO Payroll position
  • Expert knowledge of PEO and payroll related policies and procedures
  • Strong background in customer service/success

Preferred Qualifications: soft skills
  • Certification(s): FPC or CPP preferred
  • Communication – strong active listening, verbal and written skills.
  • Problem-solving – critical thinking and analytical skills, resourcefulness under pressure. Think outside-the-box ideas.
  • Adaptability – ability to learn new technologies and processes
