We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will handle payroll and bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks, manage client interactions, and provide excellent administrative support. This role is pivotal to maintaining smooth office operations and offering exceptional service to our clients. Nelson & Townsend, CPA's has been in business for over 50 years. We are a local based CPA Firm providing tax advisory, strategic business planning, and company acquisition advisory. Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll and Bookkeeping:
  • Process payroll accurately and on time.
  • Process Quarterly and Year-End reports
  • Record transactions, reconcile accounts, and maintain financial records in QuickBooks.
  • Prepare and submit necessary financial reports.
  • Client Interaction:
  • Answer phone calls promptly and professionally.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries or directing them to the appropriate team member.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with excellent communication and service.
  • Administrative Tasks:
  • Organize and manage office files and schedules.
  • Support management with day-to-day operational tasks.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all interactions and record-keeping.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
  • Advanced knowledge of payroll processing and bookkeeping.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Experience:
  • 2–3 years of payroll and bookkeeping experience.
  • Prior experience in a client-facing role is a strong advantage.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional phone etiquette and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Educational Background:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • Certification in QuickBooks (preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
