Our client is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to oversee payroll operations while actively participating in day-to-day payroll processing. This individual will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration across multiple states and pay structures while supporting and mentoring a growing payroll team.
Core Duties:
  • Manage full-cycle payroll processing in a multi-state and multi-entity environment using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Review and process a variety of pay structures, including commissions, bonuses, and piece-rate compensation.
  • Audit payroll data such as earnings, deductions, timecards, and adjustments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Handle off-cycle payroll requests, including manual checks, final pay processing, and payroll corrections.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to payroll staff while remaining actively involved in payroll operations.
  • Support quarter-end and year-end payroll activities, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor payroll compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
  • Investigate payroll discrepancies and perform variance analysis between pay periods.
  • Partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and IT teams to improve payroll workflows and resolve system-related issues.
  • Generate payroll-related reports, analytics, and supporting documentation for leadership and audits.
  • Conduct training sessions for field employees and operational teams regarding payroll procedures and wage compliance updates.
  • Assist with payroll-related audit requests, including workers' compensation, benefits, and financial audits.

What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including commission and piece-rate payroll processing.
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory payroll capacity.
  • Strong understanding of multi-state payroll regulations, garnishments, and wage compliance requirements.
  • Experience processing payroll independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems; ADP Workforce Now experience is highly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and payroll data analysis.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • CPP certification or related payroll certification is considered an asset.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
