Here's how a Payroll Administrator for PCL Constructors Inc. within Edmonton NAHQ contributes to our team:

Responsibilities
  • Accurately review employee timecards and prepare time entry for payroll processing.
  • Develop an understanding of collective bargaining agreements, payroll legislation, and company policies and apply them to time entry and payroll-related activities.
  • Assist with new hire onboarding, employment letters, Records of Employment (ROEs), and employee set up in company systems.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records while ensuring the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Respond to employee and stakeholder inquiries related to time entry, onboarding documentation, and payroll processes.
  • Assist with payroll processing activities, audits, reconciliations, and data validation as required.
  • Support payroll team initiatives and continuous process improvement activities.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous administrative, data entry, customer service, timekeeping, or payroll experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience working with payroll, HRIS, or timekeeping systems is considered an asset.
  • Experience in a unionized payroll environment is considered an asset.
