Job description

Looking for an HR role where you can truly own your area and still be part of the bigger picture?

We’re looking for a HR Business Partner to join our team and become a go-to resource for our coworkers and leaders regarding payroll & benefits.

This is a great opportunity for someone who knows payroll and benefits inside and out, enjoys solving problems, and genuinely likes helping people. You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day administration of payroll and benefits across our locations in Ohio, Alabama, and Florida, while also working alongside the rest of our HR team on the broader coworker experience.

If you’re someone who catches the details others miss, can make complicated payroll or benefits questions easier to understand, and enjoys being part of a collaborative HR team, you may be exactly who we’re looking for.

Why You’ll Love It Here
  • You’ll have real ownership.
    • You’ll be the subject-matter expert our team relies on to keep these programs accurate, compliant, and running smoothly.
  • You’ll make a difference for coworkers every day.
    • Whether you’re answering a benefits question, fixing a payroll discrepancy, helping someone understand their options, or making a process easier, your work has a direct impact on the coworker experience.
  • You'll have variety.
    • One day may involve payroll reconciliation or working through a tax question, while the next could include benefits administration, HRIS reporting, open enrollment, an audit, or partnering with another HR Business Partner.
  • There’s room to grow.
    • As the organization evolves, so does our team. Your ideas, perspective, and experience will help influence how HR shows up for the business.
  • You’ll be part of a collaborative HR team.
    • We value open communication, shared ownership, and thoughtful decision-making — and we support one another through change.
What You'll Be Doing Payroll
  • Coordinate and process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried coworkers across Ohio, Alabama, and Florida.
  • Review timekeeping, wage adjustments, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, and other payroll changes for accuracy.
  • Help ensure federal, state, and local taxes are withheld and remitted correctly.
  • Reconcile payroll and support quarter-end and year-end activities, including W-2s and tax filings.
  • Research and resolve payroll questions or discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Partner with Finance and other teams as needed to keep payroll processes running smoothly.
Benefits
  • Oversee day-to-day administration of our employee benefits programs.
  • Coordinate open enrollment and work closely with benefit vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Administer COBRA and benefit continuation requirements.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices.
  • Help coworkers understand their benefits, eligibility, and available resources.
  • Support wellness initiatives and administer our tuition reimbursement program.
Perks & Benefits:
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Quarterly/Annual Performance-Based Bonuses
  • PTO, Holidays, Parental Leave & Community Time Off
  • Paid Training & Career Development – Room to Grow Into Technician or Rental Roles
  • Bi-annual Apparel Allowance & Product/Service Discounts
  • Wellness Incentive Bonus & Milestone Celebrations
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of HR generalist experience with direct responsibility for benefits & payroll.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Experience using HRIS and timekeeping systems (Paylocity experience is a plus).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust at all levels.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus, but not required.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including maintaining regular and punctual attendance. Duties may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, and effective communication with others, in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
