Job description

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure timely, accurate payroll processing in compliance with government regulations as a Payroll Specialist 
  • Manage and oversee the processing of multiple weekly and bi-weekly Canadian payrolls, ensuring full compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements and contractual obligations 
  • Knowledge and an understanding of cross Canada, multi-provincial payroll legislation and taxation. 
  • Reconcile and remit 7 Unions Dues to the agencies  
  • Prepare Canadian Record of Employment (ROE) to CRA  
  • Guarantee the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing while strictly adhering to all relevant federal and state regulations 
  • Assist on interpretation and data entry of garnishments 
  • Conduct thorough analysis of payroll issues, recommending and implementing corrective actions to improve efficiency and accuracy as a Payroll Specialist 
  • Coordinate with various company locations to obtain the information needed to process payroll. 
  • Oversee and manage salary adjustments, deductions, bonuses, and payroll accounting, including the processing of final checks for both voluntary and involuntary employee separations 
  • Other duties as assigned 
Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) and 0 to 1 plus years of specific experience in payroll 

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • College Degree
  • Experience with UKG or Kronos Timekeeping System
