Job Description: Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Job Responsibilities:

Provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts, preparing financial statements.

Staff Accountant Job Duties:

· Maintains bookkeeping for 25 or more clients to include: bank & credit card reconciliations, recording any necessary journal entries, gathering supporting documentation for all Balance Sheet items, and financial statement preparation and analyzation.

· Preparation of individual income and business tax returns to include tax planning throughout the year.

· Preparation & filing of various returns and forms: property tax returns, sales tax returns, and 1099s/1096s.

· Payroll processing or assistance and preparation & filing of payroll tax payments and quarterly and annual returns.

· Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.

· Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential. Staff Accountant Skills and Qualifications:

Staff Accountant Job Requirements and Benefits:

The total number of hours to be worked are 80 hours every two weeks with some expected overtime throughout the year. This position includes 1 week of vacation (prorated the first year) and 2 weeks of vacation in the second year and following years, 10 paid Holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, Your Birthday), and the opportunity to accrue up to 40 hours of comp time. There is a vacation blackout period during tax season January 1st‐April 30th, as well as during the 90 day probationary period.

After 90 days of continued full‐time employment, Couch Consulting LLC will offer Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance, and Long‐Term Disability Insurance with the option to purchase other various insurances. After 1 year of continued full‐time employment, Couch Consulting LLC will offer the option to contribute to a 401k plan and will match 100% up to 3% of gross salary.

There will also be a 90‐day probationary period during which time your performance will be reviewed to ensure that this position is a good fit for both parties. You will be evaluated on the duties and skills listed above.
