Responsibilities
The Sterile Processing Manager is responsible for working with department leadership on a daily basis to manage and improve day-to-day operations. Specific areas of focus include: timely processing of surgical instruments, monitoring department productivity and operational budgets, management of sterile supplies to include breast implants and tissue, rounding on supported departments, education, quality improvement initiatives, staff scheduling, and other tasks as determined by surgical services leadership. The manager will assess the appropriateness of, and approve requests for, new instrument sets (in collaboration with the Coordinator) to economize operations while also satisfying clinical leadership and medical staff. Responsible for systems planning, space planning, and implementation planning as it relates to the Sterile Processing Department
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
1. B.S. Degree or Associates Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or other related field. 2. Prior experience in leadership, timekeeping, payroll, or operational improvements. 3. Demonstrated experience in customer service. 4. History of forming positive, collaborative relationships with internal and external customers 5. Ability to communicate effectively.
PREFERRED:
1. Masters Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration. 2. Two (2) years' experience in Healthcare.
