Job description

The Payroll Lead is responsible for payroll functionality and reporting in our payroll system, monthly entries, and reconciliations, along with other accounting activities. You will provide leadership to the payroll team to ensure Marco's internal and external client's expectations are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Leading the payroll team members which includes:
    • Point of contact - Go-to person to manage escalated issues and involve supervisor when needed.
    • Monitor coverage - Provide back-up to other team members when they are out.
    • Training - Train new team members and monitor team members being cross trained.
    • Coaching - Offer training/leadership to others and participate in performance reviews, including making compensation recommendations.
    • Input Source - Give ideas/solutions to questions or situations that come up.
  • Respond to internal and external employee inquiries related to payroll.
  • Be the subject matter expert to answer payroll team questions, resolve complex issues and problems, and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Drives process changes, collaborates with other organizational leaders to drive change, update processes, and implement changes on the payroll team.
  • Prepare variable compensation plans for management.
  • Assist with commission/incentive calculations and reporting for all business segments monthly.
  • Ensure payroll practices meet government compliance.
  • Creates, maintains, and ensures standard of work for all payroll processes.
  • Review/support all bi-weekly payroll data, reporting, and functionality in payroll system for efficient processes and accuracy.
  • Verify all new/terms/changes to employees in the payroll and ERP systems for entry accuracy.
  • Verify bi-weekly payrolls have been submitted to bank along with all deductions (401k, HSA, United Way, garnishments, etc.) and payroll taxes.
  • Prepare sales/commission and payroll reports for management as requested.
  • Assist with preparing operating accounting work papers for financial and 401k audits.
  • Prepare/post all entries and reconciliations monthly including payroll/tax, accrual, tech time, commission, and AR/AP entries.
  • Provide backup to other team members, and address payroll and commission questions.
  • Responsible for the protection and confidentiality of all sensitive and confidential data including, but not limited to, medically related items, payroll, and HR matters.
  • Accurately maintain documentation and comply with administrative procedures in a timely basis to include time entry.

  • An associate degree and four years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PAY RANGE:$63,256 - $98,047 annually
