Payroll Administrator – Construction Industry
A reputable and growing construction company in Westbury is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Administrator to join our team. This position is responsible for accurately processing weekly payroll for both union and non-union employees using the Paychex payroll system.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess exceptional attention to detail, and have experience with construction payroll, union contracts, and certified payroll reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly payroll accurately and on time for union and non-union employees.
  • Calculate employee wages, overtime, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Import, enter, and process payroll using the Paychex payroll system.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and payroll changes.
  • Interpret union contracts and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Prepare and generate weekly certified payroll and EEO reports.
  • Process wage garnishments and other required payroll deductions.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll inquiries.
  • Work closely with the Project Management team to support payroll and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform additional payroll and administrative duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of payroll experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of union payroll experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Paychex payroll system.
  • Must have construction industry payroll experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Microsoft Office experience, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a process improvement mindset.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated longevity in previous positions (minimum of three years with prior employer preferred).
