Colwen Hotels is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Payroll Coordinator to join our Corporate Accounting team. This position plays an important role in ensuring our associates are paid accurately and on time while supporting payroll operations across our growing portfolio of hotels.
Working closely with the Payroll Manager, Human Resources, and hotel leadership teams, you'll help process multi-state payroll, resolve payroll-related issues, and contribute to continuous process improvements. What You'll Do
  • Process multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Support payroll processing activities, audits, and routine payroll requests.
  • Maintain payroll records while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and wage and hour regulations.
  • Process payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, and other employee updates.
  • Partner with hotel leadership and Human Resources to research and resolve payroll questions in a timely manner.
  • Work directly with our payroll provider to resolve outstanding payroll issues.
  • Prepare payroll reports and assist with regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with payroll tax, banking, and account reconciliations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • One or more years of payroll, accounting, or related experience.
  • Experience processing payroll using UKG or a comparable payroll/HRIS system.
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and payroll tax requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Hospitality industry experience.
  • Experience processing payroll for multiple entities and multiple states.
