Jim Hudson Automotive Group is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Payroll Administrator / Recruitment Coordinator to join our growing automotive dealership team. This dual-role position is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working with people and contributing to the success of the organization through both payroll administration and talent acquisition support.

Responsibilities:

Payroll Administration

  • Manage employee compensation and payroll processes for dealership personnel.
  • Collect, review, and verify employee timekeeping and attendance records.
  • Calculate wages based on hours worked, overtime, leave balances, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation programs.
  • Process payroll adjustments including pay rate changes, deductions, employment status updates, and other payroll-related transactions.
  • Maintain accurate electronic payroll records and employee files.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Respond to payroll-related questions from employees and management.
  • Prepare and submit payroll accurately and on schedule for both weekly and monthly payroll cycles.
  • Administer employee benefits and assist employees with benefit-related questions.
  • Support accounting functions related to payroll, including general ledger maintenance and payroll reconciliations.

Recruitment Coordination

  • Review employment applications and resumes for open positions.
  • Conduct initial applicant screenings and pre-interviews.
  • Coordinate candidate communications and interview scheduling with hiring managers.
  • Assist with recruiting initiatives and maintain applicant tracking records.
  • Help ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the hiring process.


Requirements:

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll administration experience required.
  • Automotive dealership payroll experience strongly preferred.
  • Accounting experience and knowledge of payroll accounting practices preferred.
  • General ledger experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, wage calculations, commissions, and employee benefits administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and quality control.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Dependable, professional, and team-oriented.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor required.
  • Valid driver’s license
