Job description

Job title: Senior Technical Platform Product Manager - Payments Infrastructure & Agentic AI
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Our client is a large-scale commerce technology organization operating high-volume transaction systems across consumer and enterprise markets. Within a group focused on emerging technology, they are building the next generation of transaction infrastructure - moving beyond traditional processing architectures toward autonomous, agent-driven commerce.

In this role, you will own the platform roadmap connecting core transaction infrastructure with emerging agentic AI architectures. As a Technical Platform PM, you will build 0-to-1 APIs, developer frameworks, and transaction protocols that allow autonomous AI agents to discover, authorize, and execute secure commercial interactions. Working daily with platform engineers, solutions architects, risk partners, and external AI research teams, you will translate emerging agent communication models into production-grade capabilities operating at significant scale.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical product management experience building and scaling developer-facing platform APIs, core infrastructure, or transactional systems.
  • Strong domain expertise in payments infrastructure - transaction authorization and settlement, payment rails, fraud prevention systems, and dispute resolution workflows.
  • Technical fluency in emerging autonomous agent standards and transaction protocols, such as Model Context Protocol (MCP), x402, Web Bot Auth, and agent-to-agent payment frameworks.
  • Proven track record taking 0-to-1 platform capabilities from concept to production in highly regulated, compliance-driven environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build external ecosystem alignment, coordinating technical integrations and protocol standards across AI research organizations, Payment Service Providers (PSPs), and enterprise merchants.
  • Strong technical background capable of evaluating architectural tradeoffs, defining API schemas, and partnering closely with systems engineers and security teams.

Responsibilities

  • Define platform product strategy, technical requirements, and API specifications enabling autonomous, agent-facilitated commerce across consumer and merchant networks.
  • Drive implementation and integration of emerging agentic protocols into scalable backend systems.
  • Architect transaction safeguards, partnering with Fraud, Risk, and Servicing teams on real-time authentication, dispute handling, and compliance controls for agent-driven flows.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment with external AI organizations, network partners, PSPs, and merchants to co-develop shared technical standards and data-sharing interfaces.
  • Partner with Legal, Risk, and Compliance to ensure platform frameworks adhere to data privacy requirements and global financial regulations.
  • Work with engineering, solutions architecture, and developer experience teams to ship resilient APIs, integration toolkits, and administrative dashboards.
  • Monitor advancements across the autonomous AI landscape and translate them into a durable, multi-year technical platform roadmap.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary plus performance bonus, strong 401(k) match, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, and an industry-leading parental leave policy. Hybrid schedule combining focused remote work with collaborative in-office time, supported by a culture emphasizing technical autonomy and career progression.
