Job description

Job Summary:
Credit Genie is a mobile-first financial wellness platform designed to help individuals take control of their financial future. They are hiring their first Payments Product Lead to own the payments system, including strategy, orchestration, and reliability, while reporting to the Head of Product.
Responsibilities:
• Rail and instrument strategy. Decide when we use ACH vs. card, how fallbacks work, and how funding instruments are kept healthy. Put change-control around it so payment logic never ships un-designed.
• Funding-instrument health. Own the card-update, AVS, and re-instrument flows that ensure funding instruments remain healthy
• Payment orchestration. Own cadence, retries, and the prevention of stuck or orphaned transactions at the system level.
• Reconciliation and settlement. Own ledger integrity, settlement timing, and the money-movement path across our systems.
• Reliability and cost as outcomes. Own the payments scorecard (approval rate, outcomes, cost per dollar moved, money-movement uptime) and drive Engineering to hit it.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 8+ years in payments product, including meaningful time owning strategy and roadmap end to end.
• Deep ACH and card-network expertise: return/response codes, retry and representment rules, AVS/BIN behavior, settlement timing. You can explain why a specific instrument fails and design around it.
• System-level fluency in rail orchestration, fallback design, reconciliation, and ledgering.
• You leverage AI and diagnose from data. You define the metric; you don't wait for a dashboard.
• A track record shipping on high-volume payment systems where you owned outcomes (rates, cost, reliability), not just features.
Preferred:
• EWA or consumer fintech lending experience.
• Familiarity with reconciliation and financial-close processes.
• Hands-on with applying AI/automation to payment operations.
Company:
Credit Genie is a mobile-first financial wellness platform designed to help individuals take control of their financial future. Founded in 2019, the company is headquartered in Conshohocken, USA, with a team of 51-200 employees. The company is currently Growth Stage.
