Accounts Receivable Processor
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Accounts Receivable Processor for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a well-established organization in Pittsburgh, PA. This position supports multiple benefit and trust funds and is responsible for processing incoming payments, reconciling accounts, researching discrepancies, and maintaining accurate financial records.
This is not a traditional Accounts Receivable role focused on invoicing and collections. Instead, the position is centered around processing employer and member contributions, handling physical checks and cash receipts, reconciling payments, processing incoming mail, and supporting the administration of multiple fund accounts. Due to the handling of payments and sensitive documentation, this position is fully onsite.

Job Type: Temp to Perm / 40 hours a week M-F / Full-Time W2 non-exempt
Pay Rate: $25.64 per hour

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Process incoming payments including checks, cash receipts, COBRA payments, self-payments, and refunds.
  • Open and review incoming mail containing payments and supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile contribution reports against payments received.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, credits, and retroactive adjustments.
  • Respond to billing and payment inquiries from employers, providers, auditors, and fund representatives.
  • Process new employer contracts and maintain existing records.
  • Submit deposits and reconcile payment batches.
  • Perform data entry and account maintenance for assigned funds and client groups.
  • Assist with delinquency processing and payroll audit activities.
  • Review month-end reports and research balancing issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies regarding confidential information, PHI, and PII.
Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of Accounts Receivable, Cash Applications, Payment Processing, Banking Operations, Accounting Support, or related experience.
  • Experience handling payment posting, reconciliations, and transaction processing.
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Ability to work onsite five days per week in Pittsburgh.
Preferred
  • Experience processing physical checks and cash receipts.
  • Experience supporting benefit funds, trust funds, pension administration, healthcare administration, or third-party administration environments.
  • Banking, lockbox processing, payment operations, or financial services experience.
  • Associate's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
