Job description

Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions - to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes - large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.

The Role

Square is looking for a Product Sales Manager to lead a team focused on accelerating adoption of our highest-priority products across new and existing sellers.

Our Product Sales team combines deep product expertise with strong commercial skills to help sellers get more value from the Square ecosystem. The team partners closely with Account Executives and Account Managers to identify opportunities, navigate complex product conversations, and drive greater product adoption, attach, and expansion.

As we evolve our Product Sales organization, you'll lead and develop a team of Product Sales Specialists, establish strong sales and pipeline rhythms, and help build repeatable commercial motions that scale across the broader sales organization.

This is a hands-on sales leadership role for someone equally comfortable coaching a team, inspecting pipeline, engaging in strategic seller opportunities, and building new ways to accelerate product growth.

You WillLead a High-Performing Product Sales Team
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Sales Specialists accountable for product adoption and commercial outcomes.
  • Establish strong operating rhythms across pipeline management, forecasting, opportunity inspection, and performance management.
  • Develop the team's consultative selling capabilities alongside deep product expertise.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
Drive Product Adoption and Commercial Impact
  • Translate strategic GTM & product priorities into targeted sales motions that generate pipeline and accelerate adoption.
  • Identify opportunities to increase product penetration, cross-sell, and expansion across Square's seller base.
  • Partner with Account Executives and Account Managers on high-value and complex opportunities where specialized product expertise can accelerate outcomes.
  • Coach the team through discovery, solution positioning, objection handling, and closing strategies, engaging directly with sellers when needed.
  • Use pipeline, performance, and seller insights to prioritize resources and continuously improve sales motions.
Build Scalable Product Sales Motions
  • Develop and operationalize repeatable sales plays for Square's highest-priority and underpenetrated products.
  • Test new approaches to targeting, messaging, seller engagement, and specialist deployment and scale what works.
  • Partner with GTM Strategy, Operations, Data Science, and Product to improve targeting, capacity, pipeline management, forecasting, and performance measurement.
  • Help evolve the Product Sales operating model as Square's product portfolio and commercial priorities grow.
Enable the Broader Sales Organization
    • Increase product expertise and selling confidence across Account Executives, Account Managers, and other frontline sales teams.
    • Partner with Enablement and Marketing to develop sales plays, messaging, competitive positioning, ROI frameworks, and training.
    • Translate recurring seller objections, product gaps, and frontline insights into scalable enablement and commercialization improvements.
    • Partner across Sales, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Enablement to remove barriers to product adoption and improve commercial outcomes.
You Have
  • 7+ years of experience in B2B sales, account management, specialist sales, solution sales, fintech, SaaS, payments, or another complex commercial environment, including experience leading sales teams.
  • Proven success managing teams accountable for revenue, pipeline, product adoption, cross-sell, or expansion.
  • Strong sales leadership fundamentals, including coaching, pipeline management, forecasting, opportunity inspection, and performance management.
  • Experience selling complex products that require consultative discovery and strong product expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Account Executives and Account Managers in a specialist or overlay sales model.
  • Strong commercial instincts and the ability to translate product priorities into actionable sales opportunities.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally across Sales, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Enablement.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with comfort building new processes and operating models in an evolving environment.
