As a Senior Manager, Payments Operations, you will lead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of Walmart Marketplace Payments Operations. You will own critical payment programs across the seller payment lifecycle, partnering with Product, Engineering, Seller Risk, Legal, Finance, and Seller Support to deliver secure, scalable, and seamless payment experiences. The role drives operational excellence through automation, analytics, governance, and product innovation to improve seller experience, reduce operational complexity, and mitigate financial risk.
About the team:
The Payments Operations team leads the strategy, execution, and continuous enhancement of Walmart Marketplace Payments. Collaborating with Product, Engineering, Seller Risk, Legal, Finance, and Seller Support, the team ensures secure, scalable, and seamless payment experiences while managing financial, compliance, and reputational risks. The team drives operational excellence through automation, process governance, analytics, and proactive seller support across the entire payments lifecycle. This collaborative environment emphasizes strong program management, stakeholder engagement, and business operations to deliver impactful technology solutions aligned with organizational goals.
What you'll do:
  • Lead end-to-end Payments Operations, including seller payouts, payment controls, seller resolutions, outages, and operational escalations.
  • Drive operational excellence through governance, SOPs, KPIs, automation, and continuous process improvement.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to influence roadmaps and deliver scalable payment capabilities that enhance seller experience and reduce manual operations.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives across Risk, Legal, Finance, Compliance, Seller Support, and external payment partners to deliver business outcomes.
  • Leverage data and analytics to optimize payment performance, mitigate operational risk, and prioritize strategic investments.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team while supporting the expansion of Global Marketplace Payments through scalable operating models and standardized processes.

  • Proven experience leading Payments, Marketplace, Risk, or Operations programs, driving operational excellence and scalable business processes.
  • Strong ability to execute cross-functional initiatives and influence Product, Engineering, Risk, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams.
  • Experience improving operational performance through process optimization, automation, governance, and data-driven decision making.
  • Strong understanding of payments, financial controls, and risk management, with the ability to translate business needs into product capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success building business cases, prioritizing initiatives, and delivering measurable improvements in seller experience, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and lead teams through change.
