General Summary:
The Direct Store Payables Senior Analyst plays a key role in overseeing the Direct Store Payables process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This position is responsible for complex analysis, process improvements, and tram training while serving as a key point of contact for escalated issues. The Senior Analyst also proactively identifies opportunities to enhance workflow and collaborate with stakeholders to implement best practices. Defined vendors and tasks are considered more complicated and require additional time to manage. Assists Direct Store Payables Manager with leading/mentoring team and assists with special projects and system enhancements.
Job Details
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Produces reports and conducts complex analysis for all DSD vendors. Takes ownership of complex payment issues, investigating root causes and works with internal teams and vendors to implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and support process improvements, system enhancements, special projects, and workflow optimization initiatives.
  • With high level of accuracy, perform account reconciliations, including vendor statements and store communications, to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Oversee and complete transaction generator entries and month-end closing processes.
  • Train and mentor team members, providing guidance on best practices and issue resolution.
  • Assist with testing of system changes/enhancements critical to Inventory Accounting.
  • Recommends/designs/develops controls to prevent future payment errors.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Advanced understanding of accounting terms and concepts including accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations, and controls.
  • Strong business acumen and superior analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and identify trends.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and mentor team members.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
  • Ability to think analytically, make assumptions, and formulate theories with limited data.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure timely and accurate payments, while still maintaining inventory accuracy.

Qualifications
Work Experience &/or Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, finance, or other related field required.
  • A minimum of two to three years of experience in related occupation preferred.
  • Knowledge of data warehouses (1010data, WebFocus, and AS400/Island Pacific) preferred.
  • Alteryx experience is a plus.
