Job description

If you are interested in becoming a Substitute Paraprofessional, please complete an application online. This posting is for the 2026ย - 2027ย School Year.ย 
Once you have successfully completed your online application, please visit or call a school within Nassau County School District and request a Recommendation Form be completed by the principal.ย  The principal will review your online application, complete the employment verification processย and submit the necessary paperwork to the Human Resources Department.ย  Please be advised that some principals may require you to complete an interview before completing the recommendation form. ย The completion of this process is dependent upon the response of your previous employers.ย  All employment within the last ten (10) years, must be verified or the school may request three (3) reference letters.ย ย Upon receipt, the Human Resouces Department will contact you via email with the next step to becoming a Substitute Paraprofessional.
Once the initial clearances are obtained, you will be required to complete a portion of the online paperworkย and attend an inperson session to turn in required documents and an informational on Absence Management.ย  Dates of the in-person sessions will be provided at the time of completing the online paperwork.ย  Education credentials required.ย
