Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

Join a leading building supply company as a Forklift Operator/Warehouse Associate, where you will play a crucial role in serving a diverse range of customers. Your day will primarily involve picking and loading orders for arriving customers, coordinating with the warehouse manager, and ensuring that orders are efficiently processed. Initially, your role will be indoors, involving a combination of handbombing and operating both reach and sit-down forklifts. As you gain experience, there will be opportunities to transition to outdoor operations, focusing on sit-down forklift tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and load customer orders promptly upon arrival.
  • Utilize RF scanners for order picking.
  • Operate reach and sit-down forklifts effectively.
  • Perform handbombing tasks 50% of the time.
  • Engage in heavy lifting, including bags of concrete.
  • Unload and store incoming supplies.
  • Prepare orders for customers who have pre-ordered.
  • Interact with customers to provide excellent service.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and tasks throughout the day.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience with heavy lifting.
  • 1+ year of experience with reach forklift operations.
  • 1+ year of experience with sit-down forklift operations.
  • 6 months of customer service experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a narrow environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs continuously.
  • 1 year of experience in a smaller warehouse setting.
  • 1 year of customer service experience.
  • 1 year of counterbalance forklift experience.
  • AB Certification for stand-up (reach and dockstocker) and sit-down forklifts.
  • Experience with RF Scan guns and dockstocker operations.
  • Sit-down forklift experience is advantageous.
  • Previous experience with competitors is a plus.
