Job Title: Loader Operator

Description

This role involves safely operating heavy equipment to move and load materials in an outdoor environment. You will handle compost and various material fractions, feed screeners, load trailers and bins, and perform general labor and cleaning tasks as needed to support efficient site operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a loader to move compost materials and various fraction sizes to designated areas on the storage pad.
  • Feed screeners with compost materials to support processing operations.
  • Load compost materials and various fractions into walking floor trailers and bins in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Sort loose compost materials as required to meet operational needs.
  • Exit the loader as needed to perform general labor tasks, including shoveling, sweeping, and material handling.
  • Carry out routine cleaning of work areas, equipment, and surrounding spaces to maintain a safe and orderly site.
  • Assist with unloading and staging materials as directed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and environmental guidelines when working with organic waste and heavy equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate material movement and equipment use.
  • Inspect equipment before use and report any issues or maintenance needs promptly.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating a loader.
  • Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator, including loaders and similar machinery.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to perform general labor tasks in an outdoor environment.
  • Comfort working with organic compost, including dirty and odorous conditions.
