Loveland Excavating and Paving is looking for aSKILLED ASPHALT PAVER OPERATOR.

Summary

As a Skilled Asphalt Paver Operator, you will be essential in executing paving projects with precision and efficiency. Reporting to the site supervisor, your role involves operating heavy equipment, to ensure high-quality surface finishes. Your core skills in heavy equipment operation and paving will be complimented by your mechanical knowledge and experience in construction. With a focus on safety and teamwork, you will contribute to the successful completion of projects while adhering to industry standards and regulations.


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Experience with smaller chassis machines such as: LEEBOY, WEILER
  • Follow direction of Project Manager and Superintendent as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
  • May be called upon to run small power tools such as jack hammer, plate tamp, and partner saw.
  • Dig, spread, and level materials.
  • Lift, carry, and hold material, tools and supplies.
  • Assists in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in paving.
  • Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • CDL preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment, would be a plus.
  • Calculate tonnage and run yields.

  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hand and arms above their shoulders.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 pounds.


Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree GED is preferred.
  • 5 years minimum experience


Work Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and have a clean driving record/license.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when necessary and Saturdays.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
