Overview

Kimley-Horn's Orlando, Florida (FL) office is seeking an Aviation Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Pavement Engineering team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of pavement management programs (PMPs) and capital improvement programs (CIPs) for public agencies, commercial airports, state and local aviation agencies, and private clients.
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, establish and maintain effective working relationships with subconsultants, and collaborate across disciplines to support infrastructure development.
  • Leverage data collection technologies to support the development of PMPs and CIPs.
  • Travel to project locations nationwide to perform pavement condition evaluations.
  • Support the pre-construction design, planning, modification, and analysis of airfield and roadway pavement projects.
  • Utilize technical software programs to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables, including AutoCAD, Excel, GIS, FAARFIELD, PAVER, and others.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of aviation engineering design experience
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Familiarity with contract document preparation and cost estimating
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines 
  • Ability and willingness to travel for site visits as required (approximately 25% of time)
  • Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems
