Job Summary:
The Staffing Scheduler for Nursing Services will be responsible for the design and implementation of staffing patterns.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Assists in recordkeeping and documentation of attendance and tardiness
- Reviews complaints and grievances pertinent to scheduling and staffing and make necessary oral and/or written reports to the Staff Coordinator
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Establishes staffing patterns and schedules for nurses and nursing assistants
- Works with human resources/recruiting to advise them of staffing needs, terminations, and other information necessary for the smooth flow of work regarding employees
- Maintains the scheduling system for bi-weekly payroll
- Assists employees in accurate completion of forms pertinent to scheduling and staffing, including timecards, time off requests and leave of absence paperwork
- Assists in securing staff for absences, leaves, etc., adjusting schedules as required.
- Maintains records on vacations, sick leave, leaves of absence, holidays, excused and unexcused absences, and recommends appropriate action
- Documents employee calls regarding staffing and scheduling functions
- Acts as a back up for Staff Coordinator role
- Additional duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must possess sensitivity in understanding employees' needs while maintaining a sense of balance to ensure that staffing requirements are met for the facility
- Good typing and Mathematics Skills
Education and Experience:
- High school education or GED equivalent required with college-level training preferred
