Job description

American Communications Solutions and By Light Professional IT Services, together as Full Spectrum Operations (FSO) are hiring dedicated and talented IT professionals under the Eastern Western Operational Communications Services (EWOCS) contract. EWOCS provides reliable high-quality communications and innovative IT solutions for the Guardians, Airmen, and Government agencies assigned to Patrick Space Force Base, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, and Vandenberg Air Force Base. Be a part of the team that delivers excellence in national missile defense, human space flight, space launch, and combat rescue! Responsibilities * Designs and implements Windows and Linux server and workstation technologies in response to changing customer needs
  • Implements enterprise-level services, with an emphasis on data base operations & data handling across Windows/Linux/VMWare systems, including but not limited to:
  • Domain Services
  • SYSLOG
  • DHCP
  • AAA Services
  • WEF
  • SNMP
  • NTP
  • Automated Patching
  • SIEM Services
  • 802.1x & 802.1x MAB
  • Inter-relation of DNS services across disparate authoritative zones
  • VMWare ESXi, vCenter, Horizon services - provisioning, system redundancy, performance, etc.
  • Automates system data processing according to overarching data management policies (e.g. archival/removal via triggered and/or scheduled event)
  • Periodically generates scripts (bash/sh/CMD/Python/PowerShell/etc.) in support of specific use cases
  • Identifies and resolves system faults including but not limited to:
  • Domain controller replication faults
  • SQL database access faults, indexing faults, etc.
  • WSUS processing faults
  • NPS VSA-to-Device faults
  • NPS AAA lookup faults / policy mapping faults / template faults
  • init.d/systemd processing faults
  • Hardens systems as appropriate, balancing customer Availability/Integrity/Confidentiality needs.
  • Resolves IAVA/STIG findings as appropriate, providing proper documentation and/or justification to A&A personnel
  • Conducts site surveys to determine feasibility of equipment installations (e.g. telecommunications, electrical, temperature/humidity, cleanliness, space/weight, maintainability, logistical support)
  • Monitors overall system health and advises on need for potential upgrades or reconfigurations
  • Provides on-site technical and operational support in the installation and operation of any/all telecommunications equipment
  • Periodically reviews SIEM alerts as they relate to overall system status
  • Performs troubleshooting of end user problems and responds to user requests.
Mentors other IT personnel as needed Required Experience/Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (5/7 years)
  • Must meet DoD 8570 IAT II requirements
  • Proven shell-scripting experience
  • Expert understanding of Windows and/or Linux server technologies
  • Competency with virtualization technologies
