Description:
Patient Care Assistant
Department: Nursing Resource Pool
Location: Chelsea, MI hospital
Minimum pay rate: $16/hr + based upon applicable on the job patient care experience
Position Purpose:
The PCA, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care.
Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success. The PCA assists patient in completing ADLs including: Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection. They are responsible to record patient information and required data in appropriate areas in order to meet documentation requirements.
The Nursing Resource Pool offers you increased flexibility in your scheduling, while allowing you to float only at the Chelsea hospital. We support our employees with a focused orientation and training about our equipment, processes and procedures. This makes our float pools a reliable resource for our units, which means more manageable patient ratios. For all these reasons and more, Float Pool colleagues are treated as highly valued team members here at Trinity Health Michigan. In the Nursing Resource Pool you could float any of the units listed below:
  • Atrium East (Med/Surg)
  • Atrium West (Inpatient Rehabilitation)
  • Courtyard East (Med/Surg and Head Pain)
  • Emergency

Shifts Available: 7pm-7:30am
Status Available: Part time, benefit eligible (48 hours per pay period - every two weeks)
Every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation required
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma, GED, or a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Recent hospital inpatient patient care experience desired.
